|Purpose:||This unit standard is intended for managers in all economic sectors. These managers would typically be second level managers such as heads of department, section heads or divisional heads, who may have more than one team reporting to them. |
The qualifying learner is capable of:
1.) Selecting a first line manager for a specific position.
2.) Planning the coaching process of a first line manager.
3.) Coaching selected first line manager.
4.) Monitoring and measuring the results of coaching sessions.

Communication at NQF Level 4.
Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4.
Computer Literacy at NQF Level 4.
|Course Objectives:||1.) Identify and solve problems relating to the implementation of a coaching process. |
2.) Work effectively with others during coaching sessions with a first line manager.
3.) Organise and manage oneself and one's activities in preparing a coaching schedule.
4.) Collect, evaluate, organise and critically evaluate information concerning applicants for a position.
5.) Communicate effectively in explaining the coaching purpose and process.
6.) Demonstrate an understanding of the world as a set of related systems by guiding the first line manager to understand the interrelationship between work processes.
